My name is Kevin Brenis and I am the President of Back To New. A Cleveland, Ohio based company which is the only company allowed by law to manufacture the Furnace Fooler™
In the spring of 2006 my brother began his career as a manufactures Representative. At that time while working as an independent contractor for a rep. agency in Ohio, he noticed that he was continuously hearing suggestions of new products. These suggestions were coming from many different sources such as contractors, purchasing agents, and other salespeople from various wholesalers. All of these suggestions were geared at saving the technician time and adding convenience to their job. Near the end of his first year in the business, a purchasing agent at a local wholesaler he was speaking with became adamant that someone needed to create a tool to depress the door switch on a furnace while the door is removed. Of all the ideas and suggestions he had come across, this was the one that he was consistently receiving an overwhelming amount of excitement over. As the next year progressed he ran the idea of this product by many of his customers and continued to hear positive feedback, so he set out to develop this idea into an actual product.
While working in Michigan one of his customers held night school classes for the HVAC trade. At this particular school they had over forty furnaces on hand used for training their students. His customer welcomed him to come in and examine the many different shapes and sizes of door switches that these forty units had to offer. This proved to be a wonderful opportunity for him to be able to create a tool that was as universal as possible. After several visits to this school, many different sketches and many more failed prototypes he finally came up with one design that he was excited about.
The final task at hand was to find a magnet that was able to attach to the product with the strength to depress the various different types of switches. As many people may think “a magnet is a magnet”. In the beginning this was his perception as well. WOW, was he wrong! He quickly learned that just gluing a standard magnet to a piece of metal would not work. Every aspect of this product became a variable. What was the magnet made of, what the size of the magnet was, what it was attached to, what it was attached with, and how each unit was actually magnetized? After many months and working with several different engineers he formulated a process that would give this product the strength and durability it needed, while at the same time keeping it affordable.
This is how the Furnace Fooler™ was born.
In March 2008, after extensive examination of the Furnace Fooler™, ESP products in Vandalia, Ohio offered to be a distributer for the Furnace Fooler™. Due to several unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances this relationship is no longer in place and I am actively seeking new wholesalers to work with, as well as now offering the Furnace Fooler™ for sale directly through this website. It is my sole effort to offer the Furnace Fooler™ to technicians as affordably as possible.
